I think it's the element of surprise as to who you might meet or when it might lead the children love. Sherry and I have a black, soft fabric tunnel which is about 5 or 6 meters long, we pull out on rainy days. Some children are a little tentative at first as being fabric the tunnel lays flat until you crawl through it and you can't see the person in front of you because it's so dark but once they get in it they have a ball.
