You hit many nails on the head on why I love spending my days with children. For me, it is as though the children are a unique language I have learned and a certain kind of food that is fulfilling like nothing else. Keep on writing, Tom :)Jeanne Zuechhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04937382280710368749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-66653468891486686252011-11-20T23:16:30.007-08:002011-11-20T23:16:30.007-08:00Beautiful post, I love how you describe it!Beautiful post, I love how you describe it!Lesliehttp://realchilddevelopment.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-81150209780455241242011-11-20T19:58:51.625-08:002011-11-20T19:58:51.625-08:00One of my dearest friends to this day (I am 38) is...One of my dearest friends to this day (I am 38) is my 7th and 8th grade teacher, Mrs. S. She read in my wedding, and my children and I visit her a couple times a year. She is very much the natural teacher who helped me see that I, too, have that calling.CARRIEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13137602199313584768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-27787811414457087042011-11-20T19:31:52.343-08:002011-11-20T19:31:52.343-08:00Loving this!

And of course, that's not what we do all the time; sometimes the children are the pipers and we get to follow them excitedly. It's a matter of balance.

I do so love the way you write.Aunt Anniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08799746597313773030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-36666825698716327882011-11-20T17:55:03.845-08:002011-11-20T17:55:03.845-08:00Well, Tom, thanks!

I know for myself, as a parent and as a teacher, I have changed, and am still changing every day. I reflect on all of my interactions with children (and adults for that matter).

I read a blog today that spoke of having the kids assess the days lesson/activity. What a brilliant idea. I'm going to try it this upcoming week. Not in a good or bad sense but in a "what worked for me, what didn't."Erinhttp://www.urbanmoms.ca/multiplemusingsnoreply@blogger.com
