Next year I am going to have a straight split of 13 each & I can't wait to see how this will change my teaching process, or indeed, should I say IF it will change my teaching process. Wacth this space to see what happens...Anonymoushttp://nosuchthingasbadweather.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-24515444973246727092010-08-08T07:24:58.331-07:002010-08-08T07:24:58.331-07:00Our 4's group is primarily boys - but not all ...Our 4's group is primarily boys - but not all boys, thanks to the two girl hold-outs! - and....it's tough. But, at the same time, a bit exciting. Boys seem to feed off of each others energy in a slightly different way than girls do...good luck for the challenges ahead!pamela Wallberghttp://www.reggiovancouver.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-14312666913247137682010-08-07T21:47:22.340-07:002010-08-07T21:47:22.340-07:00After enjoying your comments on a couple of other ...After enjoying your comments on a couple of other blogs I visit, I have finally gotten time to visit yours - it'll be interesting to see how your boys unfold with no girls at all around. I've used gutters for water play before but love the indoor useage!

And hey, I know David! Miss him! I taught K at Giddens for a year and met so many great folks there!

I do think people sometimes think boys "need" private school (or a certain kind of approach, smaller class sizes, etc) since they more obviously struggle with the standard type of teaching/classroom, while the girls suffer more silently. Or something like that? A lot of my pre-conceived assumptions about having a boy heavy class were challenged that year, so you never know. I think it will be a fun experience for you and the boys. Enjoy it! =)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13798516846017108647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-87827932859629092652010-08-07T15:25:10.696-07:002010-08-07T15:25:10.696-07:00Interesting post Tom - especially the part about p...Interesting post Tom - especially the part about progressive education and boys. We often have the comment that "my boy would love this kind of preschool" but then wonder if a preschool with less structure and an indoor/outdoor program might not be the way to go because they would spend too much time playing outside instead of learning. And then we have boys arrive that haven't fitted into a more formalised preschool environment and thrive in ours - but usually we end up pretty even.Let the Children Playhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05121823006891382199noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-3610425609702003692010-08-07T14:23:05.553-07:002010-08-07T14:23:05.553-07:00I'm wondering if you would go with a boys grou...I'm wondering if you would go with a boys group really, really wanting to do 'boys' stuff (you know what I mean with this '')and so focus on their lead, or whether you would try to balance this with more lemonade making.
