Here is a bit more info (not ...Yeah, it was weird. Here is a bit more info (not that is helps clarify anything . . .) It was at a Little Gym (yes, the exact same Little Gym we have in Seattle) summer camp. My oldest goes there 2Xs a week for 3 hours. Luxembourg is a country. It borders Germany, France and Belgium. No, I didn't talk to the office manager because I don't feel like any real harm was done. It was a one time thing. I didn't really enroll my daughter in that program for it's arts and crafts but rather for the gym time and the opportunity to be independent.

If I was seriously concerned I would have talked to the office manager, but I just chalked it up as a cultural difference. Honestly, I was soo much more surprised than angry. Had it been her school or if I'd seen more incidences of this type of play (craft stick nunchuckus, perhaps) I would have asked some questions.

It was another reminder that I'm not in "Kansas" anymore and honestly, I like those.katyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08024345906273810543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-88176259756031606352009-09-01T01:08:14.086-07:002009-09-01T01:08:14.086-07:00Drawing guns as an art project, creepy. I like you...Drawing guns as an art project, creepy. I like your take on this and I can understand where it wouldn't be wrong to allow a child to explore as long as it isn't encouraged.

I love that a girl was the leader, lol :)MYCLOSETGARDENhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07157056684574457244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-13121821805563489772009-08-31T19:30:32.983-07:002009-08-31T19:30:32.983-07:00Really? That is terribly disturbing. Has anyone ...Really? That is terribly disturbing. Has anyone questioned the reasoning behind this art project? Not that any reason would be ok, but it would be interesting to know where the teacher's/school's head had been when they decided to do this project.

Luxembourg is in Germany right? I wonder if there is some cultural signifigance or symbolism. Why else would a school do that as a project? As a CA teacher I would ask, "What standard does that address?"Pumpkin Delight (Kimberly)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15754292671421221960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-27375893658481785842009-08-31T12:21:31.622-07:002009-08-31T12:21:31.622-07:00I have to agree that it is very disturbing.I have to agree that it is very disturbing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-51281557515983445742009-08-31T11:39:40.199-07:002009-08-31T11:39:40.199-07:00wow. um...
