Do you ever hear about other "co-op" preschools in other areas? I live in San Diego and would love to be involved with something similar to what you have created.
Thanks for sharing your ideas and any tips/advice on finding similar settings.Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07991708973721224174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-35037360034640898212011-04-19T14:47:16.260-07:002011-04-19T14:47:16.260-07:00Well, GummLump, sometimes, but not often. We have parent educators who work both in the classroom and ourside the classroom with our parent-teachers, helping them both with parenting and teaching.

There is also a bit of democracy that goes on in our school. If a parent is too overbearing, she soon finds herself without many "customers" at her station. It tends to be somewhat self-correcting in that way.Teacher Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14606781724784785338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-43496827698269479382011-04-19T07:33:21.332-07:002011-04-19T07:33:21.332-07:00Do the parents find it hard to stop interfering an...Do the parents find it hard to stop interfering and just let the kids explore? I wonder about that. Is there any conversation about that? You know, the parent that keeps fixing it, redoing it, "helping" too much?GummyLump.com: wooden toys, pretend play, and play food for preschool!https://www.blogger.com/profile/15965627419627455279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-29538532333865545912011-04-19T03:16:54.398-07:002011-04-19T03:16:54.398-07:00I agree with Sherry. Facilitators and guides are an ideal- allowing self discovery, exploration and self directed learning. Real life pushes demands and expects often putting you in a crisis situation making you learn. Or maybe thats just my life....

Maybe the difference is love, your parent teachers and yourself are there with love, love for the children, love for your job, love for that special thing called childhood.Chapter Fortyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16005206439235137179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15932919.post-78440410736069729852011-04-18T19:55:57.422-07:002011-04-18T19:55:57.422-07:00Thanks for this post.
